ANOTHER PART OF MY LIFE IN

CANADA

Where I live in Canada is in a small town, but still a lot of trees because it’s on the mountain, the name of the town is “Sainte-Agathe-des-months”. Sainte-Agathe is in Québec, so people there use French as the first language, not many people can speak English because Québec is the only province in Canada that speak French. When the Winter arrives, it is very cold, the coldest that I met was -30 degrees Celsius. On the other hand, the hottest that I met was 41 degrees Celsius because of the heat wave. But normally the weather in Summer is around 25 degrees Celsius. In Autumn, the leaves on the trees are changing its colors and start to fall. In Spring we can see the leaves sprout.

 In each season, the activities are not the same. In Spring and Summer, they usually do the outdoor activities, such as camping, fishing, hiking, picnic, sports likes bicycling and traveling. In Autumn, the weather is starting to get cold, so they usually do the indoor activities, such as watching movies, sports that we can do indoor like volleyball, basketball, badminton, skating and ice hockey. In Winter, the activities are almost the same as Spring, but there are outside sports too, such as skiing and snowboard.

But there also a lot of activities with AFS too, such as apple picking, Halloween party, go to Québec, carbane à sucre, go to Toronto, go to Niagara Falls and end of year camp.

                  On the other hand, I also did a lot of activities with my host family too, such as go to Ottawa, go to Québec, go to Saint-Jérôme, strawberries picking, camping, playing paint ball and horse riding ETC.

Or some time I go out with my friends and sleepover at her house, we always go to Montréal together and we take metro to go to many other places.

School there is not the same as Thailand, they do 6 years of primary school, 5 years of secondary school, cégep for 4 years and University (optional). In my school there are 4 periods per days and each period is 75 minutes long. The subject that I took were math, science, French, English, Social study, p.E., history and ethics.

            There is a project call “Project Passion” that we have to choose about the activities that we interest in, I did it with my Italian friend. We choose cooking, so we can present about the food in our country.

          About my host family, they live in a small-town call “Sainte-Agathe-Des-Monts” There are 5 members in my host family. With them it is easier because every member in the family can speak English, but we hardly speak English together just only when I don’t understand, so they speak English with me. I did a lot more activities with this family than the old family and they understand more what “exchange student” is because my host father did it once in Italy and last years, there is an exchange student from Denmark that they hosting.
